Rimini’s historic center is one of the most historically rich areas on the entire Riviera. You can walk through different centuries in just a few minutes: from the Arch of Augustus to the Tiberius Bridge, all the way to Piazza Cavour, the heart of city life.
We recommend visiting the Malatesta Temple, a Renaissance masterpiece commissioned by Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta that still houses works by Giotto and Piero della Francesca; the Domus del Chirurgo, a unique archaeological site with artifacts dating from Roman times to the Middle Ages; and Castel Sismondo, the Malatesta family’s fortress-residence and now home to the Fellini Museum.
If you love the movies, stop by the Cinema Fulgor, the place where Federico Fellini discovered the magic of the big screen and which is now part of the open-air museum in his honor.

Late afternoon is the best time to visit the historic center. The squares come alive, the restaurants set out their outdoor tables, and strolling around becomes a real pleasure.
Still in the heart of the historic center, just past the Tiberius Bridge, you enter one of Rimini’s most charming neighborhoods: Borgo San Giuliano, the old fishing village. The low, colourful houses and the murals dedicated to Federico Fellini’s most famous films reveal the city’s most authentic soul.
Local tip
Visit Borgo San Giuliano in the evening, after 7:00 PM, when the soft lighting, small squares, and bustling little restaurants create a laid-back, pleasant summer atmosphere. Take your time wandering through its streets: you’ll discover hidden corners and some excellent trattorias where you can stop for dinner.
From Borgo San Giuliano, you can continue on foot along the canal harbor, following the path that runs alongside the water and offers ever-changing views of boats, bars, and picturesque spots, until you reach the harbor area. Rimini's harbor is one of the best places for a sea-view stroll. In the northern part, you’ll find the Darsena, a modern, lively area featuring bars and restaurants overlooking the water; in the southern part, the promenade stretches to the lighthouse and the Ferris wheel, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the coast.
Local tip
Do you like walking? You'll love it at sunset. The golden hour light and the boats sailing back in create a truly magical atmosphere. In the summer months, it's also one of the best spots to stop for a drink or a plate of seafood while gazing out at the sea.
Parco del Mare is Rimini’s new seafront promenade, a scenic pedestrian and cycle path that runs alongside the beach, offering beautiful views of the colourful beach huts, the sea, and the lively atmosphere of the beach resorts. Here, you can walk or cycle, watch people playing beach volleyball and beach tennis, or simply soak up the vibrant, carefree spirit of the Riviera.
Local tip
Rent a bike (there’s a well-stocked Bike Rent shop near the hotel) and ride through the park early in the morning or in the late afternoon. With the sun dancing on the water and people strolling along the beach, it’s the best way to fully enjoy the seaside promenade, stopping for an ice cream or an aperitif with a direct sea view.
